Tyler and Ashley were such a fun couple to work with, and we were honored to be able to shoot their wedding! We originally met them at a bridal shower for another couple’s wedding we shot, Chandler and Kimmi Wiley, and then as they were a part of that wedding, as well. We were able to shoot their engagement stroll last year, and this day was just a continuation of our relationship with them!
Tyler and Ashley got engaged in front of this fountain here in Lake Geneva, so it made for the perfect place for them to have their first look. The problem was, this was the first official weekend of summer, and Lake Geneva was packed! We were able to shoo people away just long enough to get some amazing pictures, though!
All of the ladies gathered around to pray for Ashley before the wedding and wish her well in her journey ahead, then she was able to have some touching words with her dad right before walking down the aisle.
The Riviera was a beautiful venue with loads of windows surrounding it that let in a ton of natural light. Tulle was strung from the ceilings and lit with small lights to give it a great ambiance.
Tyler and Ashley actually had a custom made hourglass that they filled with genuine Lake Geneva sand that they filled as part of their unity ceremony.
During the ceremony, it actually started pouring raining, so we were afraid that our after-wedding session with them wasn’t going to work, but in the end, we braved the little bit of rain to get some amazing shots around the library and surrounding areas.
Of course, we had to pose with the locals!
We even found a puppy along the way!
They had Gino’s East Pizza cater, so we had some amazing deep dish and Chicago style pizza. Also, since they were going to Disney for their honeymoon, they had a Cinderella’s Castle style cake to go along with the cupcakes.
During the first dance between Tyler and Ashley, her dad took over and then her three sisters joined them for a very special family dance.
Ashley’s dad is a police officer and had a great time showing off his dancing skills with some of his other colleagues.
As a perfect compliment to her first dance song, At Last I See the Light (from the movie Tangled), they sent off paper lanterns.
We took them out at the end of the wedding and took some beach pictures next to the lake.
Tyler built this car from the ground up. When he first bought it, it had no engine, but he was able to fill it up and it made the perfect getaway vehicle! He’s just slightly obsessed with Volkswagon and Audi, so this helped with the decoration of his car!
Overall, we had such a great time with Tyler and Ashley. We wish them the best in their wonderful marriage!
